Dear PTA President and Officers:

Did you know that PTA provides you with a local support team?

Fort Worth ISD Council of PTAs provides training to PTA Board members as well as help when needed to you and your Board.   To start the year off well, take this checklist challenge.

Have you ……..

  • Pre-registered your Board members for the Fall Training to be held Saturday, September 21?  Bylaws require that all Board members (both Executive and Chairs) must take the one time Leadership Orientation Training ( LOT)  by October 15.  See our brochure for LOT times and the titles and times of the optional workshops on that day.  A prize filled Vendor/Resource Fair will also be held that day!
  • Registered your PTA 2013-2014Officers & Chairs with Texas PTA using their on-line link?
  • Requested your “Back to School PTA Kit” from National PTA? (info@pta.org)
  • Made sure that the Financial Reconciliation Committee met, performed the reconciliation, and received a report that the books and finances were in good standing?
  • Established a finance committee to propose goals and budget for your General Membership to approve at your first General Meeting in September?
  • Made sure every Board member has a copy of your PTA bylaws?
  • Partnered with your Principal to start your Membership drive?
  • Sent your $50 Council Dues with the attached Form (required by October 15);
  • Emailed me the  names and contact information for your PTA Council Delegate;
  • Added our Council website to your “favorites”?  (fwisdcouncil.txpta.org)
  • and/or “Liked” us on Facebook?  (facebook.com/fwisdcouncilofptas)
  • Added Texas PTA website to your computer favorites?  (txpta.org
By bylaw you and your PTA Council Delegates are members of our Fort Worth Council. We have five (5) meetings every year in which you receive information from Texas and National PTA as well as the FWISD.  Just as you partner with your school principal, PTA Council partners with the FWISD leaders to promote PTA and advocate for children.

We look forward to helping you achieve your goals this year.  Please contact our Board through the year if you need support or have questions.   Together we can help make “Every child’s potential a reality.”

Veronica Villegas
President, Fort Worth ISD Council of PTAs
